William Costello is a dual British/Irish citizen, raised in London. He completed his undergraduate studies at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, training with Eric Roberts and Geoffrey Moses, and went on to earn a master’s degree from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland under the guidance of Julian Tovey. He currently resides in London, where he continues his vocal studies with Russell Smythe.

William has performed on a wide range of stages across the UK and Europe and is confident singing in English, Italian, German, and French. He is a regular member of the Irish National Opera Chorus and took part in the 2024 Aida: Opern Spectacular arena tour across Germany. During his master’s studies, he also completed a course in opera directing—an area he is eager to explore further.

Beyond opera, William has appeared as a soloist in major choral works, including Haydn’s Nelson Mass, Fauré’s Requiem, Mozart’s Vesperae solennes de confessore, and Michael Haydn’s Requiem, alongside various choral and solo performances with choirs throughout the UK.
